Sunday, July 08, 2007 so 7th july 2007 was significant after all, like patches for a juvenile nicotine junkie. as it turned out, 777 was an eventful day. at 8am, my dad, brother, lydia and i swung by yishun mariamman temple to witness the wedding of one of the nicest girls in the world, to an equally nice fella. warmest wishes from all of us, priya and bala. my personal highlight that mornin' was the sight of the lady thoughtfully wearin' a saree to the event. and boy, did she turn out in such breathtakin' resplendent fashion. bee-yuu-tee-fuuuul.  more pics as soon as i get 'em. next, it was off to tampines indoor stadium for the openin' day of the national floorball leagues. my brother, playin' his first league match ever (for ntu blizzards in division 3) capped his fine debut with a 5-1 win. then it was my turn to traverse the battleground with my sim blacks warriors, as we geared up for our first division 2 match. and what a match it turned out to be.  it was a very satisfyin' win against a good side. what made it impressive was that we were actually 0-2 down durin' the first period. the way we fought back to win was pretty inspirational, and spoke well of our mental strength and all-round discipline. shades of liverpool and that glorious istanbul nite kept creepin' insidiously into my mind. of course, none of this would've been possible without the hordes of spectators by the sidelines (who must've thought we were down and out at 0-2 but went ecstatic at the final whistle). thanks everyone. now it's up to us to build on this good start. one word: spartans! 777 was also special for another reason. for a little test that lydia took through the week that she undoubtedly aced. as for what that test was, watch this space. hmm, 777. if only i could fly one perhaps? nope, don't want to anymore. negoy |
