pardon the hiatus folks, been up to my neck in activity this week.

let me get back on my bloggin' track with details of the blacks' last division 2 match, last sunday at tampines stadium, against sp mustangs. armed with the knowledge that this match was one of those must-wins, the blacks were plannin' to hit the court firin' on all cylinders. would we get the win we needed to keep up our chase for promotion, or would we choke under the pressure? thankfully, it was the former.

not exactly our best performance, but a win nonetheless. signs of a strong team perhaps? anyhow, our defence as a team was much better this time out. standout players for me this week were ishak and venu, for providin' that crucial link between attack and defence in fine fashion.

oh, and the match also saw the debut of our newest black, the 1.97m belgian colossus of a defender magnus. we had to get special air traffic clearance and re-route aircraft in the vicinity just so he could move around in the area. it's worth all the trouble cos' magnus brings with him vast floorball experience and a passion for the game. he had a good outing too. welcome to the blacks family, magnus.

our good evenin' got even better later, with news of surprise results involvin' our main challengers for promotion. tampines east knights were held to a 5-5 draw by smu hunters in an ill-tempered affair. but the shock result of the weekend has to be debutants cornvix's upset of nus saints, 5-4. all this means that at the end of 4 weeks, we're second in the table. yes, second! but our season is as far from over as elton john is from heterosexuality. there're 6 more matches to go, startin' with the one this sunday against the shock winners of the week cornvix. they're definitely not to be underestimated. but we shall go all out for a win. yes, we shall.
