    overheard

    (one ah beng with bouquet in hand talkin' to another without, at bukit gombak mrt station)

    ah beng 1: (in deep contemplation) basket, she want sunflower. where to get sunflower siah?
    ah beng 2: get from the sun lor.
    ah beng 1 : really ah?

    as primitive and juvenile as the humour in this exchange was, i found myself chucklin', all the way home. oh, the innocence of it all.

    u know vday's round the corner and cupid's workin' overtime when even your quintessential singaporean beng is hit by the love bug. it's one of those few days whereby everyone has an excuse for returnin' to an age of innocence. i mean, sure, for a lovin' couple (like the lady and i), everyday's vday. but just as birthdays are special occasions to celebrate the life of a person who's life u should be celebratin' (with your actions) everyday, likewise there's this significant aura about vday that drifts around and catches everyone by the senses and knocks them senseless.

    it doesn't matter if u're young, old, rich, poor, good lookin' or wayne rooney. if u love someone, i dare say, take some time to celebrate love this valentines'.

    just like the beng who's plannin' that space shuttle mission to the sun, just to get his girl sunflowers.
